Travel and Hotel
This page is for our our out of town guests who need to make travel arrangements. For driving directions once you arrive, see Wedding Information.

Airport Shuttle

Need to get from Oakland Airport to the hotel?

A taxi will cost around $85 each way.

For a shared-ride van, we recommend East Bay Connection at http://www.eastbayconnection.net or 800-675-3278. They have one of the best rates in town ($51 each way for one person, anytime) and a good website and phone system.

For the very savvy traveler, take the AirBART bus from Oakland to the nearest BART station for $2. Take BART to the Dublin/Pleasanton station for less than $5. Then either call the hotel in advance and ask if the free shuttle can pick you up, or take a cab from the BART station to the hotel. It's only a few miles and will be cheap, but it's way too far to walk and not easy to take another bus.

Hotel Amenities

We recently visited the hotel and found the guest rooms to be quite nice. The hotel was recently renovated and offers a variety of amenities to its guests including a pool and fitness center, complimentary wired and wireless internet access in all guest rooms, and a full breakfast buffet which can be purchased for $10. Most standard guest rooms come with one king bed, and a limited number of rooms with two double beds are available. Roll-away beds can be requested as well.

Hotel Shuttle

The hotel provides complimentary parking if you'll be arriving by car. The hotel also provides complimentary shuttle service within a 10-mile radius. If you won't have access to a car during your stay, you can use this shuttle to travel to and from our wedding ceremony and reception at the Palm Event Center. In addition, you can take the shuttle to and from the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station. If you'd like to take advantage of the shuttle service to get to and from our wedding, please let the front desk know when you check in so arrangements can be made appropriately. Reservations for this shuttle are required since the shuttle seats only six people.

Airports and Public Transportation

There are three airports in the greater Bay Area that you can fly in to for our wedding. The closest airport is the Oakland Airport (OAK), which is about 40 minutes away. The other two airports are the San Francisco airport (SFO) and the San Jose airport (SJO). Both the Oakland and San Francisco airports are accessible via BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), a fast light-rail system. The closest BART station to the Palm Event Center as well as to the hotel is the Dublin/Pleasanton station.

Car Rental and Directions

If you choose to rent a car, you will find ample free parking at both the hotel and the Palm Event Center. For driving directions, see Wedding Information.

Area Attractions

If you'll be staying in the bay area for a few days, you might want to take advantage of all the tourist attractions the bay area has to offer. Below are just a few ideas to get you started. If you need help with making any plans to visit any of these locations, or need info on transportation, feel free to get in touch with us.

The Mitchell Katz Winery is located adjacent to the Palm Event Center and offers wine tastings.

If you want to visit San Francisco, Pier 39 is a must-see. Not only is there tons of shopping and dining, but you can take a site seeing tour, visit Alkatraz Island, and enjoy some great street performers.

No trip to San Francisco would be complete without a trip to Fisherman's Wharf where you can enjoy some fantastic seafood and more shopping.

If you want to take a ride on the Cable Car while you're in San Francisco, the link will take you to route maps and schedules.

Another fun place for both kids and adults is the Exploratorium Museum where you can explore science, and enjoy the interactive exhibits.
